The Title of this post is the directive of the first writing assignment in my English class. And you know what I think I'm gonna do first? Overanalyze the hell out of it. OK... go:
Captain Literal: A paragraph? Really?! I can write a sentence about a time when I accomplished something, or I can write a page about a time when I accomplished something, but a paragraph? Why not a limerick, or a haiku? I mean, I'll just be getting started by the time the paragraph hits the MLA standard for bloat!
I'm going to be forty in May. That doesn't trouble me - I've felt old since I was about twenty-three, and I've learned to deal with it. Worries, sports-injury arthritis, and disdain for popular culture have all made me feel like the big four oh came and went somewhere in my late teens. But I missed one thing as I plunged headlong into premature old age, and that thing was college. Well, guess who's back?
